Spring Season

Good afternoon,

We are very excited for the start of the Spring season and we know coaches, players and parents are anxious to get going!

We are busy on our end assigning coaches and preparing to finalize team rosters after registration closes on April 12th. We plan to have rosters sent out by April19th, but we want to share a bit of how this process will be working this year.

As a member of NFL Flag Football, we have been selected as a trial league to use a new system called the Matrix, which is a team building software used to optimally format teams using data within player registration. The system will help sort teams by player ability so that teams are as fair as possible athletically. Secondary data that is used includes schools, coach and buddy requests. Due to the new registration process and the Matrix, it is possible that some teams will be a combination of two districts (within their state). The numbers within districts will dictate whether this happens, however we ensure that kids are with a cluster of others from their area.

Another question we have been getting is whether masks will be required. We plan to follow whatever the states mandate in terms of masks for Spring youth sports. As of now, for both MA and NH, it is required that all players, volunteers, and coaches wear masks at the fields. If we hear of any protocol changes, we will update you.

Once you have been notified of team placements you can download the GameChanger Team Manager app. It is a green icon. Your coaches will import the team to the app and then you will be able to view game schedule, rosters, and team announcements. We recommend downloading this app as it makes it easier to stay in the loop with the team, however this information will also be available on the website when you login to your account.

MA teams will play in Salisbury behind the Salisbury Elementary School. NH teams will play in Brentwood and Hampton. To view the approximate start times per age division please visit this link: Spring Resources

Coaches will be receiving team uniforms which they will distribute at the scrimmage on May 1st. Players will receive a jersey, shorts, flags and a SYFFL bag.

Questions about practices should be directed to your coach once rosters are sent as they will be setting them up. Teams will only be allowed to practice the week before the scrimmage and the week of the scrimmage as to limit any interference with other sports and activities the kids are involved in. Teams will have roughly 15 mins before games to warm-up.

As we head into the season, we ask that you please remember this is a recreational league and should be FUN for the kids. Flag football offers great learning experiences in a safe environment. We are looking forward to seeing everyone back on the field! We will be in touch soon.
